Biracial toddler hair care tips for boys using natural products
Have you been struggling to maintain your baby’s curly hair? And has it been even harder to find the right products? If yes, then please keep reading because I’ll be sharing mixed babies hair care tips using safe products so your child can flaunt beautiful healthy curls.
Curly hair is high maintenance, you have to wash it it right, brush it right and use the right products. Not doing this, will only cause damage and will result in dry and frizzy hair and over time the curls will lose their shape.
I have a mixed baby, he has long, curly hair and sometimes it’s hard to style and maintain. But luckily, we know of a few tricks and products that work great. They are safe and gentle and they provide everything that mixed babies need in their hair, which is why you should be using them on your child’s hair too.
Mixed Babies Hair Care Tips Using Safe Products
1. Don’t Over Wash
I shower my baby boy every other day and I don’t always shampoo his hair. It’s best to wash your baby’s hair 1-2 times a week, that way their natural hair oils stay longer. Natural oils help prevent hair from getting dry and looking dull.
2. Don’t Dry Brush
Never brush curly hair when it’s dry, the result of that will only be frizz. Brush right after the shower or use a spray bottle, it’s also easier to untangle that way.
3. Use A Wide Tooth Comb
Using a wide tooth comb will help prevent breakage and it will help preserve your child’s curls. I love this set from Amazon because it has a few different wide tooth comb and brushes that makes detangling so much easier.
4. Use A Detangler
Using a detangler on your toddler’s hair can make brushing easier and less painful, reducing tears and tantrums during grooming sessions. Detanglers work by smoothing out knots and tangles, making hair softer and more manageable for gentle combing or brushing.
Incorporating a detangler into your toddler’s haircare routine can promote healthy hair habits.
5. Be Gentle
Be patient and gentle, don’t brush too hard or you’ll end up pulling hairs out or even causing damage. You’ll also just frustrate your child, they will not like the pain and they will start moving making it more difficult.
6. Use Products Made For Curly Hair
Shea Moisture makes some amazing products for mixed babies with curly hair. I love this set from Amazon, it has a 2-1 shampoo and conditioner, a detangler and a butter to style their hair.
These products bring the curls together while making them look loose and bouncy. I learned it works best when applying to wet hair. So, I use them after my baby showers or I use the spray bottle I mentioned above to wet his hair before styling.

Thank you for writing this, my son is mixed. I am Puerto Rican with thin very curly hair and his father is Italian, German, and Argentinean with thick wavy hair. So his hair can be wild at times. The top is wavy but he has big tight banana curls sporadically spread throughout the top. The front, sides and back have super tight curls. So this hair can be tricky at times.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! you don’t understand how much this has helped me, now i know why my daughters hair was always fizzy and tangle, but this helped me so much.
